American Institute of Architects Rhode Island

AIA Rhode Island is highly committed to excellence in architecture and service to the public, endeavoring to bring together and serve all who are interested in the art and science of architecture. The Chapter is dedicated to enhancing the quality of our built environment, and thereby the quality of life. AIA Rhode Island aspires to increase the public’s knowledge and understanding of the architectural profession, expand the knowledge of all participating in the architectural process, and improve the quality of services provided by architectural professionals. The Chapter offers many programs that enhance the public understanding of design, as well as, the practice of architecture.

International Interior Design Association New England

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) works to advance the value of interior design and its practitioners as well as to cultivate leadership within the profession. IIDA has more than 12,000 Members in nine specialty Forums in 30 Chapters around the world committed to enhancing the quality of life through excellence in interior design and advancing interior design through knowledge. The IIDA New England Chapter (IIDA NE) was incorporated in 1972 and serves the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

DESIGNxRI

DESIGNxRI (DxRI) is a nonprofit economic development organization with a mission to create an opportunity-driven environment for RI designers, design businesses, and the design sector to thrive. They believe design is a critical economic sector that drives change globally, socially, and locally. As the only statewide organization for design in RI, they build value in the sector by investing in RI design talent, increasing strategic assets in the field, and connecting this talent to key opportunities.

American Planning Association Rhode Island

APA RI is one of 47 chapters and 20 divisions of the American Planning Association. They are a non-profit public interest and research organization dedicated to urban, suburban, regional and rural planning. With over 150 members, APA RI is made up of planners at all government levels, private consultants, local planning board members, landscape architects, environmental scientists, lawyers, engineers, professors, students and other professionals dedicated to sound planning principles.

Grow Smart Rhode Island

Grow Smart Rhode Island provides statewide leadership for diverse public and private interests seeking sustainable and equitable economic growth. They promote such growth by advocating for compact development in revitalized urban, town, and village centers balanced with responsible stewardship of our region’s natural assets – farmland, forests, the coastline, and the Bay. They inform leaders, decision makers, and concerned citizens about the many benefits of compact development and asset stewardship and provide research and training on proven smart growth strategies. They convene broad coalitions that advocate policy reforms and specific projects designed to build communities where all people and businesses can thrive.
